Toyota's incoming chairman wants new Supra

New Supra-like sports car developed with BMW could be in the automaker's future.

Toyota Motor Corp.'s incoming chairman said he wants the sports car the company is developing with BMW to be a midsized vehicle comparable to the discontinued Toyota Supra.

Toyota's next sports car should be like the Supra so that it doesn't overlap with the 86 coupe, Takeshi Uchiyamada said in an interview today in Osaka at a gathering of members of the Keidanren, Japan's biggest business lobbying group.

Still, such decisions are up to engineers, Uchiyamada said.

"That's what I want but it's not me who makes the decision," said Uchiyamada, who's known within Toyota as the "father of the Prius" for his work developing the world's best-selling gasoline-electric car.

"It's futile if we make something similar" to the 86, he said.

Toyota and BMW announced this year they will jointly produce a midsized sports car as part of a broader collaboration between the two. Should Uchiyamada, who's leading the negotiations with BMW, get his wish, Toyota would be reviving a model that was last produced in 1999 after a 20-year run.

Toyota spokesman Naoto Fuse declined to comment beyond saying nothing has been decided.

Uchiyamada, 66, is scheduled to become Toyota's next chairman at the company's annual shareholders' meeting this week, replacing Fujio Cho, who will become honorary chairman.

Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG Given A Makeover By Brabus

Brabus recently gave the Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG a makeover, boosting its power while increasing the width of its body.

The Brabus B63-620 Widestar is another high-performance SUV from the tuning specialist from Germany. The output of the 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine of the GL63 AMG was increased to 611bhp through the PowerXtra plug-and-play software of Brabus. This also made the acceleration of the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph faster by 0.2 seconds compared to the standard variant of the vehicle. Its speed also tops at 174 mph.

In addition to the enhancements on the engine, Brabus also lowered the ride height and increased the width of the GL63 AMG. These modifications enhance the grip and minimize lift, which result to better handling and aerodynamic performance.

Butterfly vales are featured on the exhaust system of the vehicle, which increases engine volume while on the move. Sound is also reduced in the “Coming Home” mode of the vehicle. The Brabus B63-620 Widestar also features 23-inch platinum alloy wheels from Brabus.

In addition to these enhancements, Alcantara and leather hand-stitched seats were also added into the interior of the GL63 AMG. The enhancements by Brabus are expected to increase the base price tag of the Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG by twofold.

Learn How To Buy The Right Car Or Truck For You!

Car shopping is a process that is very exciting for some but frightening for many. In order to demystify the car buying process, a bit of advance research and study can be extremely helpful. Begin by using the following tips and soon, you will successfully get the car you need.

You can save a lot by negotiating and asking for a price lower than what your salesperson first offers. In fact, you should never purchase a car for the listed price. They are priced for negotiations and this should be taken advantage of.

Have a mechanic look over any used car you are considering. If the dealer does not cooperate, go to another dealer. You need a mechanic to give you an objective opinion about the car's condition and check for damages, submersion in water or other problems some dealers try to hide.

If you buy a vehicle from an individual, make sure that you have it checked out by a mechanic first. If the person doesn't want you to do that, you need to think of that as a warning. There may be hidden problems that can be expensive to repair. Investing in a car isn't worth it when it's a lemon.

Try to bring someone with you if you are going shopping for a vehicle. Your friend can listen for things you might have missed and they can give you advice if they think you shouldn't buy the car you are looking at. The person could be your spouse, a good friend or even a parent.

If you are shopping for a car, spend some time at the dealer. The only way to come to a decision that you are comfortable with is to take your time. If you can, use the entire afternoon. If for some reason you need to leave the dealership before you are ready, don't panic. It is best to come back when you have more time.

If you are looking for a new car, you need to find one that is safe. The car must have ABS or anti-lock brakes. Air bags are also essential. It is vital that your car is safe.

Don't roll up to the dealership in an expensive car. Once salespeople see your expensive vehicle, they will not accept any of your offers and try raising prices because they will assume you can afford to spend more on a vehicle.

Do not talk about trade-ins, down payments or incentives until after you have a firm price on the car you want. These things should all be taken off the bottom line price. You will end up with a better price if you negotiate the deal first, then discuss these "extras".

Most people would agree that buying a car is not their favorite activity. The truth is, if you prepare before setting out onto car lots, you can have an enjoyable experience. Now that you've read the great tips and advice above, you should be all set to head out and find your next vehicle.

Tips To Help You Find The Right Car

Some people have a knack for vehicle information and can tell you anything and everything about each car on the market. Others feel completely uninformed about vehicles and pricing. This is a good read for those that feel a little lost.

Before you visit a dealership, look at the car prices online. You should only go to a dealership when you are sure about the make and model of the car that you want. Research online before settling on any final decisions.

Prior to visiting a dealership, you should have some idea of what kind of vehicle you want. Research this online to see what car is most suitable for your budget and your family. Once you know what kind of car you want, do some research on its price and do not let salespeople make you offers that do not correspond to the average price.

Remember to consider fuel economy when deciding on your budget for buying a car. For example, it may seem like a good idea to purchase a V-8 with towing capability. However, you should think about whether you will really be taking full advantage of these features.

If you have been considering a new car purchase, your first step should be shopping for a car loan. This is simply for safety. Though dealership finance departments may be able to secure a lower rate for your car loan, consulting with outside banks is a good way to get a ballpark idea of what you will pay.

Don't roll up to the dealership in an expensive car. This will end up costing you a lot of money in the long run.

Get the cost on the car in stone before you discuss trade-ins, or any other monetary exchanges. They should come out of the lowest price available. You can get a fairer deal if you do it this way.

Before going to a dealership, have a firm number in mind. This price should reflect the amount that you would not mind paying and also what the fair price is on the market for that particular make and model.

Ask to bring in your own mechanic. You need to use a respected mechanic. Don't use a mechanic your dealer recommends to you. Your mechanic will tell you what is wrong with the car, and whether the price is right.

Do not discuss your trade-in. Never tell the salesperson right away what you have for a trade in. Discussing a trade-in too early works against you, as the dealer may offer you a worse deal on the new vehicle in view of the condition of the trade-in.

Search online for great used car deals. There isn't a reason to go to a dealer anymore. Rather, you can search Craigslist, eBay, and classified ads, locally. You will avoid high-pressure tactics from dealerships, and you may be able to save a lot more money.

You should no longer feel overwhelmed. You should now know how to make better decisions about the vehicle you want to buy. When you get a great price on what you're buying, you should feel less stressed out and confidence when you're driving it. Go car shopping with confidence!

Auto Service Contracts 101: The Need-To-Know Facts

Today, buying car is not just simply buying a car. This is because when a person wants to buy a car, there are many additional services that tag along. One great example of these so-called “extras” is the auto service contract.

These auto service contracts are not necessarily required by most car dealers. However, most car buyers are enticed to get one in order to protect themselves against unforeseen circumstances such as expensive car repairs.

Generally, auto service contracts are pledges made by the agency, usually the car dealer, responsible to provide the necessary services or repairs that the buyer or the contract holder is entitled for.

The problem with some people is that they categorize auto service contract as the same with extended car warranties. What they do not know is that car warranties are normally included in the price of the new car bought while auto service contracts can be obtained any time even if the person did not buy a new car. Moreover, auto service contracts are always an additional cost for the car buyer meaning he may or may not obtain an auto service contract.

However, just like the other financial decisions, careful deliberation is extremely important before making some final decisions. This is because not all auto service contracts are made equal.

Here is a list of the factors that need to be considered when getting an auto service contract:

1. Buyers should be aware of the terms and conditions stipulated in the auto service contract.

In every agency or company that provides auto service contracts, each has its own terms and conditions. Hence, it is important for every buyer to know first the terms as stipulated in the contract so as to know what kinds of details are included and what are those that are not included.

2. Buyers should know the specific entity who will perform the required services.

In this way, the buyer would know what goes on when a certain service is required. In this way, the contract holder would know where to ask for the repairs and to whom they should ask for the needed services.

3. Know the reputation of those who will provide auto service contracts.

It is extremely important to know how long the company or the dealer has been in the business. Along with it comes the reputation that has been built for so many years of reliable services and performances that the customers were able to testify.

The important thing here is that people should be aware of what they are paying for. After all, it’s their money that is at risk.

Getting Your Car Repaired: Tips And Tricks

It can be expensive to repair a car. In addition to having to buy parts, you also need to pay the mechanic for their work. Do you want to save some money by doing your own repairs? Well, you can, if you read the following tips.

Get yourself a good battery charger, making sure to keep it inside the car. A dead battery is more common than you think and you will be able to help other broken down drivers if you have a battery charger with you. The charger has special connecting points that you should be aware of when hooking it up to a car.

Ensure you regularly inspect your radiator. Let the car run a while, shut off the engine and then pop the hood. Never open the radiator while the car is on. Check the amount of fluid in your radiator with your dipstick and remember to mix the coolant with some water.

Speak with a repair shop's technician if you wish to figure out what kinds of cars they've worked on in the past. If they have, they probably know what it takes to make the needed repairs.

You should wash your car often to avoid rust. Rust is an inevitability, but you can stave it off for a good while. Use a good wax to protect your paint job as much as possible.

Keep on hand all of your car's documentation. You may want to store them in the glove compartment for easy access. Auto repair professionals likely will want to see those records. They can find problems much quicker that way.

Whenever you have your vehicle repaired, ensure you maintain an adequate record, regardless of the reason why you are having repairs. Having detailed records will be useful if you need to perform more repairs on your vehicle. If you don't have these records, you could pay lots more money and it can be harder to figure out where the issues is.

Test your car out after a repair has been done by a mechanic. Make sure it is operating correctly before full payment is made. Many people don't take this crucial step and wind up plagued by the same issue that brought them to the shop in the first place.

Find a mechanic who has experience with the make and model you drive. Cars can differ significantly, even if the general mechanical principles are the same. A luxury SUV is quite different from a hybrid Prius, for example. If you don't know, pay extra to get the dealer to repair it.

You do not have to have repairs done at the auto dealer. There are great technicians everywhere, whether you take your car to the shop ten minutes from your home or whether you go on in to your dealer. Consider using one if they appear to be good.

Modern cars are quite reliable, but nearly every vehicle needs a repair on occasion. But don't think that a mechanic is required for every single repair. The money you save could be used to pay for parts when you do your own repairs. These tips will help you along the way, so think about trying it.

Tips To Get Your Car Fixed Right The First Time

Having an automobile repaired is something that can strike fear in the heart of countless individuals. What you have to be sure of is that you're on top of getting the best repairs for your vehicle by knowing what to do or where to go. By using the tips below, you will get the repairs you need in order to have your car running properly.

Make sure there is an emergency kit located in your vehicle at all times. You need to have tools in your kit that will allow you to change the battery, help you get some extra gas and tire changing tools as well. Should your car break down in the dark, it is helpful to have extra batteries, a flashlight, and some blankets.

If you have issues with your car, you can fix it yourself. You can easily learn to perform small repairs yourself. If you are game, consider doing some online research to diagnose the issue. If it is not a very difficult job, you can save some money by doing the repairs yourself.

Referrals are your best best when searching for a trustworthy mechanic. Ask around for recommendations. This gives you the opportunity to find out about costs and the overall quality you can expect. People will let you know how their experience went.

Read online reviews of local body shops. These reviews will inform you of the company's quality, customer service satisfaction rates, etc. You can then use that information to pick a shop that you can feel comfortable giving your money to.

Always think of how to fix your car's problems yourself before trying to get it repaired. If you know what the problem is, you can save money and also easily identify any repair shop that is trying to scam you. As you probably have heard in the past, some people that fix vehicles are lying so they're able to get paid more.

Before you settle on a car repair business, talk to friends and family for recommendations. Your loved ones may give you some recommendations to simplify your search. Still do your homework on whoever they mention. At the minimum, take a look online to see what others are saying about the shop as well.

It is just as important to get your car washed in winter as it is in summer. Winter can be the most damaging season to a car's bodywork. Salt and sand from frozen streets can cause rust spots and other flaws. To be sure that ice doesn't build up, make sure the car gets dried after washing it.

Competent repairs can be done elsewhere than at the dealership. There are good mechanics all over that can fix your car. If you find someone that you're comfortable with, they should be used.

There is no doubt that car trouble is one of the most frustrating and inconvenient difficulties around. However, if you are armed with the right information, you're car will be back on the road in no time. Remember the information above to tackle problems you have.

Bentley courting Maybach celebs with letter-writing campaign

When Daimler let slip that Maybach was on the chopping block, the German automaker reportedly insisted that ultra-luxury editions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class would replace the doomed marque. We're all for a smattering of low volume, seriously pricey S-Class variants, but will the richest and most influential Maybach buyers feel the same way?

Automotive News reports that Bentley is betting that stars like Jay-Z and Samuel L. Jackson will want more than a gussied-up Benz, and the luxury car make is sending out olive branches in the form of a letter campaign. The premium Volkswagen brand is asking the high-rollers to step into a Bentley Mulsanne or perhaps a top-shelf Continental GT. To help persuade VIPs to switch to Bentley, the automaker is inviting select Maybach owners to tour its Crewe, England home.

Given the fact that many typical soccer moms and dads can afford an ML-Class, we can see why some movie stars and sultans would want to steer clear of the Three-Pointed Star. But is Bentley really going to gain much by wooing the 200 annual Maybach buyers? If a few more rap stars roll in a Bentley in their next music video, then the answer would appear to be yes.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupe

Mercedes-Benz upgraded its SLS flagship Coupe and Roadster for the 2013 model year, and the changes are marked with them new "GT" nomenclature. Both SLS models arrive with a retuned naturally aspired 6.2-liter V8 delivering 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque (the horses are up from 563, but the torque remains the same) mated to a revised seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox. Rounding out the mechanical upgrades is a redeveloped AMG two-mode adaptive suspension. Physically, the revised models are differentiated by their new "GT" badging, darkened headlight/taillight buckets, red brake calipers, unique wheel colors and high gloss finish on the front grille, exterior mirrors and hood/fender fins. Inside the cabin are new red seatbelts, Alcantara upholstery and contrasting red stitching.

As it is nearly impossible to experience the aluminum gullwing beast on public roads, Mercedes invited out to Southern California's Willow Springs to wring out the 2013 SLS GT Coupe on a racing circuit.
Driving Notes
  • It was impossible to feel the horsepower bump from the driver's seat (the track's 2,000-foot elevation negated the increase anyway), but the free-breathing V8 sounds even more spectacular each time I meet it. Gobs of low-end torque, a responsive throttle and a willingness to race to redline (7,200 rpm) make it a near-perfect driver's companion. The automaker quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds – traction at launch is a problem – with a top speed of 197 miles per hour. The SLS attacked the Streets of Willow with voraciousness. I've driven hundreds of laps on the circuit, but never in a vehicle so powerful that I needed to brake hard to make Turn One after rocketing down the straight (running clockwise).
  • After finding myself bumping off the limiter repeatedly while using the wheel-mounted paddles in manual mode (an LED shift light blinks red at the top of the cluster), I put the gearbox in Sport Plus and let computers do the thinking. Overall, I was pleased with its intuitiveness and I really enjoyed the throttle blips on the downshifts.
  • A near complete lack of body roll and very firm AMG Sport suspension (I chose the damper's softest setting to combat the surface's broken pavement) meant the rear end would break loose mid-corner if the power was applied abruptly. Smoothness and consistent throttle applications were imperative to keeping the rear end planted and exiting the corner with the nose pointed down the track. Overall balance was impressively neutral and weight distribution, fore and aft, was easily controlled with the accelerator pedal.
  • The 15.4-inch perforated front steel rotors could take plenty of abuse, but I preferred the optional carbon-ceramic brake setup as they felt unaffected by the heat generated on the tight track. As an added benefit, they weigh less and look even better through the forged spokes on the wheels.
  • Driven back-to-back on the track, the updated Coupe and Roadster were nearly identical dynamically (they both weigh 3,573 pounds). From a driver's perspective, the exhaust note is more pronounced in the Roadster and there was more wiggle room for my helmeted head beneath its soft convertible top. Still, I wouldn't want to give up those signature gullwing doors.

How To Keep Your Car In Proper Working Order

It can be pricey to have a car repaired. You must pay for the necessary parts and the labor associated with the repairs. Does the idea of saving money on auto repairs appeal to you? The following tips will help you do so.

Get your car ready for the summer starting in the spring. Bring your car to an auto shop and have it inspected for issues that could be worsened by overheating. Ask your mechanic to look for leaks and check hoses.

When you're looking for a vehicle repairer, see what convenience options they can offer you. Some places will give you a way to get home if you're getting your car dropped off and need to pick it up later. Finding shops that can do repairs right way can save you money since you won't need a taxi while it's fixed.

Using a dealer's mechanics can be expensive, but this is often your best option. The mechanics at the dealership are experts in the type of vehicle you have. They can find problems easily and are trained to fix problems that are common with your car. They are also trained regularly.

Once a mechanic has replaced parts on your car, ask to have the old ones back. If the mechanic refuses to give you the part back, it may because he never replaced it in the first place. This is troublesome and you should tell him so.

Save the receipts from all your car repairs in a single file. Have them divided by the kind of repairs done or put them in chronological order, with the newest receipts first. The point is you have a good record of all things done to your car, and this can prove extremely helpful. It only takes a few minutes to do, and the record can be a valuable tool.

Get a written estimate for anything a mechanic quotes over $200. Having written proof can be helpful if you decide to file a complaint against the mechanic. Also, when you have a written estimate, a mechanic will have a harder time putting unneeded repairs on your bill.

You should be educated on the parts of your car so you can easily figure out what problems it has. If you are uneducated on car, you may want to enroll in a class about auto repair. The cost is worth it through the money you save on repairs. Therefore, you will be better able to pinpoint problems before they become too serious, which will help your car last longer.

The benefit of modern automobiles is that they are equipped with warning indications about things that are malfunctioning. However, you do not want to rely on them alone. Keep in mind that the sensors can become damaged or that the light can stop working. Check your vehicle manually every couple of months to make sure everything is functioning.

Modern cars are quite reliable, but nearly every vehicle needs a repair on occasion. This does not mean that a mechanic will have to work on your car for you. You can save a lot by performing some repairs yourself. This article will be a huge help.

DIY Auto Repair - Some Tips To Follow!

The most important goal when you car needs repair is to have the repair done fast. When you have no car, you may be stranded. However, you needn't break the bank to have your car fixed. There are certain repairs you can even do yourself.

In the winter, you still need to wash your car. Winter can be the most damaging season to a car's bodywork. Road salt and sand cause rust and abrasion. Dry the car right after washing, and make sure you do it thoroughly.

You don't need to visit a car dealer in order to get your car fixed. You should be able to find reliable mechanics in your area, either by going to a repair shop or an independent garage. Consider using one if they appear to be good.

Try not to do many repairs by yourself on your car. Always get someone to be near you if an emergency were to happen. Spend a little more on tools of high quality that will not fall apart. In particular, only use the best equipment for changing tires. Remember that your jack needs to hold your car up very securely, especially if you are going to be underneath the car. Buy an adequate hydraulic floor jack that has approved jack stands.

Checking your tire pressure can help save you money and wear and tear on tires. Examine the tires for anything that might be stuck in them. If anything is wrong with your tires, the problem needs to be addressed quickly. It's dangerous to drive on faulty tires.

Take pictures of your car prior to having it serviced. Most auto shops are totally reputable, but there's always an exception that may consider stripping some things from your car. To keep from having this horrible experience, make sure you document all area of your vehicle by taking clear and dated pictures.

Before going to a mechanic, educate yourself on the standard classifications of car parts. Parts can be new, rebuilt or reconditioned, or salvaged. New parts are exactly as they sound. They are brand new and created to the specifications of the manufacturer. Rebuilt, reconditioned, and re-manufactured are parts which are restored and in good working condition. Salvage parts are parts that have been used and haven't been altered.

If you see a small problem in your vehicle, you should take your car in to check it out anyway. Sometimes a small symptom indicates a much larger problem.

You should not try diagnosing complex problems. You are not the expert, and you must remember this. Modern cars include complex computer systems, and problems that were simple in the past are no longer so easy to fix. Let your mechanic do the diagnosing. Be knowledgeable about the details, but let the repair shop make the diagnosis.

In conclusion, you do not need to spend a fortune to have your car repaired if it breaks down. Most of the time, you can fix the issues yourself. Take what you have learned and put it to good use.

Are You Having Car Problems? Try These Tips

Getting your car fixed is often a frightful experience. If you want to make sure that you get the right type of service, you need to know more about the process of auto repair. The article below contains the information you need to know.

Sometimes you can find a good mechanic who works in their home garage. As long as he knows what he is doing, he can charge less for the same work. This can help the home mechanic out and save you a lot of money over the charges of bigger repair shops.

Before you settle on a car repair business, talk to friends and family for recommendations. They have used mechanics before and can fill you in on their experiences. For any recommendation, research them. Checking out online customer reviews for a given garage is a must, and it doesn't take long at all.

Don't have too many keychains or other items on your key fob. The ignition can't support too much weight. When the key begins to stick in position, you have to replace all of the tumblers or endure more serious damage.

Find an auto repair shop authorized by your manufacturer. When doing this, your warranty comes into play and can save you money. Keep in mind that going to a different repair shop can void some pats of the warranty you have.

Prior to having major repairs done to your vehicle, get several quotes. The mechanic may not like it. If they try to keep you from getting one, be warned by this. If your car really does need work and he gives you a good price, he should have no problem being true to his word.

Ask as many questions as you deem necessary when getting your vehicle repaired. When you want to get your car fixed, you should know everything involved. A reputable garage will be more than happy to provide you with a written estimate.

Figure out what repairs and labor are going to cost you before handing your keys over. Some shops have these costs in conspicuous places, so you need to carefully read and ask any questions you have if something doesn't make sense. Make sure that you know exactly how you are going to be billed. Auto repair shops may use the estimated repair time established by certain manufacturers. New Gallardo LP 560-4 and LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica worldwide premiere at Paris

At the 2012 Paris Motorshow Automobili Lamborghini is presenting the most successful super sports car of its entire history with a new design – even more aggressive, and more extreme: the new Gallardo LP 560-4 and the LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica. The new Gallardo LP 560-4 - equipped with permanent four wheel drive- has a new front end and a new rear, while top models in the Gallardo line-up,the LP 570-4 Superleggera and the LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, will be offered also as the further enhanced Edizione Tecnica. The six models of the Gallardo family are now clearly differentiated and can be customized perfectly to suit every type of driver.

The new Gallardo models will be available at Lamborghini dealerships from November 2012.

The new Gallardo LP 560-4

The unique design with its razor-sharp lines is one of the key factors in its great success worldwide. Nearly 13,000 units have already left the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.

The Gallardo design has now been further accentuated in the new Gallardo LP 560-4. The new front end is characterized by triangular and trapezoidal forms – two shapes that are highly typical of the Lamborghini design language. Divided by diagonal elements in body color and in black, the overall look of the front end is broader and more forceful, giving it an even stronger bond with the road.

To complete the new look larger air intakes have been created ahead of the front wheels and the new 19-inch “Apollo polished” alloy wheels, painted in matt black and featuring precision-machined spokes in polished silver.

Also new is the even more dynamic rear end design on the Gallardo LP 560-4. The triangle and trapezoid are, of course, the characteristic design elements here, too. The air outlet for the power unit now has now a wider surface area, which improves its thermodynamic efficiency. A new Style Package is available as an option and offers high-gloss black paintwork on the underside of the front spoiler, front and rear grilles and the transverse element of the rear trim to give the Gallardo LP 560-4 an even more powerful look.

The new Gallardo LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica

With a more determined lightweight design, a focus on high performance and a purist look, the LP 570-4 Superleggera and the LP 570-4 Spyder Performante mark the very pinnacle of the Gallardo family. As Edizione Tecnica, they benefit from a further improved equipment level and an even more individual look. Features of the Edizione Tecnica include the fixed high rear wing, as well as brakes in carbon-ceramic technology. They combine low weight with outstanding fade resistance and durability. The power to weight ratio down to an outstanding 2,35 allows the car to be taken as one of the best references in the segment.

The Edizione Tecnica underscore sits very special look with three new exclusive optional color combinations, whereby the entire roof arch and front air intakes are painted in a contrast color. The available shades are: Nero Nemesis (matt black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) pillars and front air intakes, Bianco Canopus (matt white) body with Arancio Argos pillars and front air intakes, and Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis pillars and front air intakes.

In addition to this, all the new Gallardo models can be customized to a virtually limitless degree with the exclusive and well known: “Ad Personam” Lamborghini program.

The new LP 560-4 and the Edizione Tecnica for the LP 570-4 Superleggera and Spyder Performante, underline – even in terms of design – the differences in mechanical and driving experience among the four-wheel drive versions of the Gallardo range.

In fact, beside the Gallardo four-wheel drive, the two-wheel drive Gallardo LP 550-2 in Coupe and Spyder format are still available. With its purist rear-wheel drive, it appeals to drivers that prefer a highly active and engaged driving style. The Gallardo LP 550-2 offers the unique design and performance of a Lamborghini in a simple and uncomplicated form

All new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster

Automobili Lamborghini presents the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster: the most exciting series production Lamborghini ever built and the new benchmark in the world of open-top luxury super sports cars.
On the heels of the successful coupe introduced in Summer 2011, and with over 1,300 units already delivered to customers, the House of the Raging Bull is now offering the convertible version of the Aventador, a vehicle that perfectly balances the ultimate driving experience with the ultimate in sports car sophistication.
The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster can immediately be recognized by the unique profile of its upper area, which extends along newly designed geometric lines from the removable roof to the engine hood.
The Roadster's design is the result of a careful study into the best way of combining performance, elegant style, ease of use and a driving experience that excites all five senses.

The two-piece roof is made entirely from carbon fiber using various technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite®. These technologies guarantee maximum aesthetic performance and stiffness although each component is extremely light, weighing less than 6 kg. These two parts are removable, easy to handle, and being lightweight and simple to attach, can be stored in the front luggage compartment. In just a few seconds the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster can be admired in all its luxurious beauty.
The rear pillar has been redesigned to offer total support for the removable roof, accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers, and provide the engine compartment with ample ventilation.

Right at first glance, it’s noticeable that the engine hood on the Roadster differs from the hood on the coupé because of its central “spinal column” with two pairs of hexagonal windows connected at the sides as if they were hyper-tech armor plates. Their purpose is to cool the engine, drain off rain water properly and, of course, allow the beauty of the V12 power unit to be admired.
The driver of the Aventador Roadster and his passenger can decide for themselves how intensely they would like to enjoy the driving experience. The powered rear windshield not only influences the flow of air in the vehicle, but also controls the experience of the sound from the twelve-cylinder engine. The wind deflector, on the other hand, delivers almost complete calm inside the car, even at high speed. It rests on the front windshield frame and can likewise be stored in the luggage compartment when not in use.
The Aventador Roadster is also equipped with door windows with chamfered edges, which always ensure a perfect fit into the hard-top seal, and underline the sharp side profile of the car.

The body of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster sports a two-tone finish, as the windshield pillar, the two roof sections and the rear window area up to the “fins” are painted in gloss black. The visual effect is that of a completely open vehicle with sleek lines combining perfectly balanced sportiness and elegance.
The range of colors available for the Roadster has been supplemented with a very light, metallic blue color, Azzuro Thetis, whose tone varies with the angle of the light. This color recalls the shade of the extraordinarily beautiful 1968 Miura Roadster, and both highlights and reinforces the lines of the vehicle by adding strength and dynamism.

Even the interior has a new look. The use of leather called Sabbia Nefertem highlights the superb hand-made craftsmanship of the upholstery from Sant' Agata Bolognese and is a perfect match for the exterior in Azzuro Thetis. Finally, the new Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster also features new Dione 20”/21” rims with a daring, aggressive look. Crafted in light forged aluminum, they lower the weight of the vehicle by 10 Kg as compared with the standard set of rims.
The new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster boasts record performance. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3 seconds flat and has a maximum speed of some 350 km/h.
These numbers, combined with a drive train featuring a centrally located, 6.5 liter aspirated V12 generating 700 hp, an ISR 7-speed gearbox and push-rod suspension make the new Aventador Roadster a unique super sports car with no direct competition.
Of course the Roadster's V12 also includes a cylinder deactivation system when the engine is working at partial capacity, while the innovative, instant Stop & Start system includes high-performance capacitors known as supercaps to awaken the engine. This is an absolute first in the super sports car segment.
The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster is a dream that can be realized and ordered at any Lamborghini dealer in the world for the price of 300,000 euro, excluding taxes.

Required Knowledge For Today's Car Shopping Novices

Do you want a shiny, new car in your driveway? Are you worried about how hard it is to buy one? We wrote this article with you in mind, and the advice here will make buying your next car a process which you not only enjoy, but leaves you with an amazing car at a great price.

If you plan to trade in your old car, find out how much it's worth and factor that into your budget. If you think, your car is worth a lot, and it's not, you may be in for a shock when you reach the lot. Knowing as much as possible before you leave your house is the key.

Decide on at least three different models that you like and shop for each one to net you the best deal. This will allow you to negotiate three deals and then choose the one that fits you best. Although this will take time, you can rest assured that you will get the best deal possible.

In this type of an economy, you are provided with much better options when purchasing a vehicle. Still, beware because the dealership will not just hand this information to you. Know what your options are, and know that this economy puts the ball in your hands when it comes to purchasing a vehicle.

When it comes to purchasing a car, whether new or pre-owned, you need to beef up on your negotiation skills. Cars are intentionally marked up because the sellers understand that a negotiation must take place. So make sure you NEVER pay sticker price for your vehicle and if you can't haggle, get someone to do it for you.

Use online sites, such as kbb.com, to help you determine a fair price for any used car that you are considering buying. These sites allow you to enter all the pertinent information about a vehicle, including, year, model, options and conditions. They then provide you with a fair price for the vehicle in question. That way you know the approximate price range of the vehicle you are shopping for, and you can negotiate accordingly.

Do not wait until you go car shopping to think about how you are going to finance your car. You need to arrive at the dealership with your car loan pre-qualified at a decent interest rate. You are almost always going to be able to get a better deal than the dealership would provide for you.

When purchasing a car, be wary of the age and mileage warranty of the vehicle. In most cases, you are likely to hit the mileage first so make sure you understand exactly how long you are likely to be covered before making a decision on what vehicle you will purchase.

It isn't too hard to buy a car now, is it? You just needed the right advice to make you a confident buyer. Take all this knowledge and use it in your buying adventure, then share it with loved ones to ensure they have the best possible car shopping experiences, too.

Get The Best Bang For Your Buck With The Help Of These Tips

While you might have been at a loss in the past when it comes to purchasing vehicles, there is no need for you to settle for that spot now. You can take control over your purchasing situation, and you can have the right knowledge in your hands. Keep reading to find out more!

Don't expect to make a purchase in your first dealership. In fact, if you do so, then you are probably making a bad purchase. Shopping around is always important, and this is especially true when it comes to making an intelligent purchase with a car or truck. Take your time and look around.

Be careful when it comes to leasing a vehicle. You can encounter huge expenses if you go over the mileage that is stated in the contract and if you cause any damage to the interior. Avoid leasing if you drive a lot or can not ensure that you will stick to a certain number of miles each year.

If you are shopping for a family car, test out the features that are important to a family. Try out your car seat in the car and make sure you can sit comfortably. Put the stroller in the trunk to make sure it fits. Moreover, check the ease of unlocking and opening the doors with your hands full of car seats, diaper bags, kids, etc.

If you are trading your car in, take it to a detail shop and have the upholstery and carpets cleaned along with a wash and wax. Doing this one thing can usually net you several hundred dollars or more in trade-in value compared to a car that isn't clean.

Keep comfort in mind when purchasing a car. So many people focus on the way the car looks and what features it has rather than paying attention to the comfort. Are the seats comfy? Can the seat be adjusted to fit your body? Take these things into consideration before getting a car.

If you are frequently using your car, it is important that you ask the dealer about the tires of the car. Find out about the size of the tires and how much they would be to replace. This is a big deal because certain tired cost a substantial amount to replace.

When in the finance office, read your final contract thoroughly. Many dealerships will try to rush you through this step, and they may change important information or financing terms as a result. Make sure the terms are exactly what you agreed to. If they are not, ask them to make changes before you sign anything.

Never settle for the price that's set for the car when you're shopping for one. You must be a great negotiator and try to knock a little off the price. Every car dealership knows that they're going to have to negotiate anyway, so they make the car seem like it costs more than they'd settle for.

Don't you feel much better about your chances when it comes to purchasing a vehicle now? You should now think about how to apply the information you've learned. Get ready, and go to the dealership like you can tell them how business is done. It's time for you to get the deals you deserve!

An Easy Way To Become A Master Car Buyer

Many people think that purchasing a car is really difficult, but that's not true if you know what you are doing. When purchasing a car, like any other purchase, you simply need the proper education and information. This article aims to provide you with that information you are looking for.

When purchasing a certified pre-owned vehicle that comes with a warranty, make sure you read the fine print. Most warranties on these vehicles only cover power-train and don't cover much else. There are also cases in which the warranty may not be transferable which would make it void in your case.

Plan to buy at the end of the year if you can. This is the time when the best deals are available; not only is the calendar changing over, but new vehicles are rolling on to the lot. Begin shopping in October, although keep in mind that December might be the best month to get a low price.

Research is the key to being a happy car owner. With a budget in mind and a list of cars you want, you can begin to delve into which vehicle is right for you. You should be aware of any negative reports on the vehicles you have in mind. Know its safety ratings and value to help you negotiate a good price.

Don't ever settle for salesmen or other people at the dealership talking down to you. If this happens, take your business elsewhere. You will never get the best deal if you don't have a salesman that is going to listen to your needs. There will be one out there, so go find them.

To ensure that your car shopping process yield the best possible selection for you and your family; think carefully about your driving and lifestyle habits. Deliberately considering the sort of use the vehicle is likely to get will help you choose the right one. Failure to keep factors such as fuel-efficiency or hauling capacity in mind while shopping can cause you to purchase something that ends up being impractical for your daily requirements.

Have an idea of what kind of car you want if you are purchasing a used vehicle. Consider your family and your lifestyle. Does an SUV make more sense or do you prefer a mid-sized sedan? Thinking about things ahead of time will help you avoid being overwhelmed when you go out to take a look at vehicles. You are also more likely to be happy with your purchase down the line.

Your first offer should be at or very close to the invoice price of the vehicle. This likely be rejected, but will start the negotiation process in your favor. At some point, the salesperson will likely step out to speak to a manager. When they return, if the price is within your price range, accept. If not, continue negotiations. If you have not reached an agreement within 2 or 3 tries, it may be time to cut your losses and try another dealer.

As stated before, making the proper car or truck purchase really just comes down to information. When you know how to get a good deal, it is as simple as shopping around. Use these tips and tricks and you will be sitting in the car or truck of your dreams shortly.

Successful season for the BMW Z4 GT3

Countless wins and plenty of stamina: in the 2012 motorsport season, the BMW Z4 GT3 once again proved to be the perfect car for privateer BMW drivers and teams around the world to successfully challenge for points and victories in championships held in accordance with GT3 regulations and at demanding endurance races. Driven by a 4.4-liter, eight-cylinder engine, the car caused a stir wherever it appeared. To date, BMW Motorsport Distribution has supplied over 30 models, which have been competing on racetracks around the world since.

“The BMW Z4 GT3 has another impressive season behind it,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. “Our BMW privateers have been in the mix almost everywhere they have lined up with this car. With a little more luck, we could quite possibly have seen one or two more titles coming our way. Since its debut, we have consistently developed the BMW Z4 GT3 and fine-tuned its performance. This process will continue next season. We are fully committed to this car and have numerous optimizations lined up, which will make the BMW Z4 GT3 even stronger in 2013. Until the end of 2015 at least, this model will spearhead our range of cars for privateer teams and drivers looking to achieve success in GT racing.”

The title in the Italian GT Championship went to Thomas Biagi (IT) and Stefano Colombo (IT) at the wheel of a ROAL Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3. The most prominent representative of the product range at BMW Motorsport Distribution was also responsible for victories in many other national championships. For example, BMW tasted success in the German ADAC GT Masters and the British GT Championship. The BMW Z4 GT3 was also among the most successful models in the GT300 class of the Japanese Super GT Championship and the Brazilian GT Championship, where BMW Team Brazil goes into the final races of the season with excellent title chances.

BMW privateers also made their mark on the fiercely competitive international series held in accordance with GT3 regulations: in the FIA GT1 World Championship, the Vita4One racing team claimed four wins and was involved in the title battle until the final race

BMW privateers also made their mark on the fiercely competitive international series held in accordance with GT3 regulations: in the FIA GT1 World Championship, the Vita4One racing team claimed four wins and was involved in the title battle until the final race. In the Blancpain Endurance Series, the Marc VDS Racing team narrowly missed out on the title in a dramatic season finale. The BMW Z4 GT3 once again showed that it is a guarantee of success at 24-hour races this season, including the endurance classics at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (DE) and Spa-Francorchamps (BE). Four BMW Z4 GT3s finished in the top ten in the Eifel Mountains. In qualifying, BMW Team Schubert’s Uwe Alzen (DE) clocked the fastest lap time ever on this version of the “Green Hell” circuit. Gregory Franchi (BE), Frank Kechele (DE) and Mathias Lauda (AT) of Vita4One Racing came home in third at the Spa 24 Hours to claim their place on the podium.

The development of the BMW Z4 GT3 sees the BMW Motorsport experts in Munich (DE) work closely with the privateer teams who run the car on a weekly basis. As such, BMW Motorsport invited the current crop of teams running the BMW Z4 GT3 to take part in the official development test for the 2013 season. The data acquired at this test, together with feedback from engineers in a wide range of series, provided the basis for a development package put together for 2013, which will make the car even more competitive than it already is. As well as making it simpler for less experienced teams to operate, the main focus was on optimizing the drive train while at the same time fine-tuning the racing car’s aerodynamics. The BMW Z4 GT3 is the only GT3 car with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). This aid system has been further developed, as has the anti-lock brake system (ABS). This also guarantees that any driver is instantly able to get to grips with, and is safe at the wheel of the BMW Z4 GT3.

As well as the permanent on-going development of its cars, another pillar of the philosophy at BMW Motorsport Distribution is the service it offers privateer BMW teams. The BMW Motorsport Service Trailer made its debut in 2012. This allowed teams at the racetrack access to spare parts at numerous events. The close connection with the worldwide BMW dealership network also ensures that spare parts can be quickly and reliably delivered to even the most remote fringes of the motorsport world. BMW Motorsport engineers provided their colleagues in privateer teams with on-site support at many races. BMW Motorsport’s service covered series like the Blancpain Endurance Series, the ADAC GT Masters and the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring. A 24-hour hotline on race weekends also guarantees that any team can call on BMW Motorsport’s expertise at any time during an event.

Easy Solutions To Auto Repair That Are Simple To Follow

Figuring out how to make auto repairs is similar to figuring out how to get a tooth pulled without pain. Read the article below to find out what can be done to help yourself. You will be educated by what you learn and how easy it is to learn.

If the mechanic hems and haws about giving you firm estimate, you may want to find someone else. If he does not do the work correctly, you will have a hard time recovering any damages, because you will have no proof of the work that he was contracted to do.

Pay attention to all of the lights that flash in the dashboard, and make sure that you understand what each of them mean. These lights are able to help you out, and determine when your car may need fixed. Don't ignore any dashboard lights that come on, as the problem may grow worse if it's ignored.

Check out reviews about body shops online. You will get a great idea of how the shop operates this way. The information will help locate a local repair shop that you are comfortable with trusting with such an important job.

Compare more than 3 estimates so that you can get the best deal on your repair. It will help you find the best price available from a trustworthy mechanic. Look for mechanics that know the ins and outs of your car. There's a good chance that these shops will know how to repair your car.

When you get a diagnosis, take some time before you decide to get the repairs done. Contact other shops or dealerships and compare what they would charge for repairs suggested by the first mechanic. If you get a better quote elsewhere, just pay the mechanic for their time and go with the better offer.

It is very important to keep records of all your auto repairs. If further issues develop later, the mechanic may want to see the historical documentation of what has already been done. You might end up paying more if you don't have them, because it will be more difficult to diagnose the issue.

A good referral makes it much easier to locate a trustworthy mechanic. Therefore, do not hesitate to ask your family and friends for their recommendations. You can find out great information about price and value that way. These people will be able to inform you of their experience with the mechanic.

Sometimes when you take your car in for repairs, you are told of other problems when you come to get it. This is often done to make you feel as though you've been given a great deal. Tell the mechanic that you will need to think about it, then shop around for a better price.

Make use of these tips as you get ready for the next auto repair. Lack of information can leave you overwhelmed, or worse, broke. Take control and learn what alternatives you have in fixing your car, and decide on the best course of action for your situation.

Debut for the BMW Z4 GTE and the newly structured BMW Team RLL

BMW is embarking on a new chapter of its motorsport commitment in North America: after four successful years with the BMW M3 GT, the new BMW Z4 GTE will take over at the head of the manufacturer’s campaign in the 2013 American Le Mans Series (ALMS). On Tuesday, BMW Motorsport and BMW Team RLL presented the car and drivers for the new season at the “Daytona International Speedway” (US).

Supported by Premium Partner Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, guests from around the world were given the opportunity to inspect the BMW Z4 GTE at close hand, talk to those responsible for the team, and experience the iconic racetrack in Florida from the cockpit, courtesy of taxi rides with the BMW ALMS drivers.

“As we approach the start of the ALMS season in mid-March, so the anticipation is gradually rising,”said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. “All of us at BMW Motorsport and BMW Team RLL are very curious to see how the first few races pan out with the new BMW Z4 GTE. We are setting out on a development year, but are very confident we have once again developed a car that has the potential to win races and titles in the form of the BMW Z4 GTE. Seeing our drivers at this event, you could tell how much they are looking forward to the first race in Sebring. I would also like to say a big thank you to our Premium Partner Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts for its fantastic support here in Daytona.”

Team Principal Bobby Rahal added: “Obviously I am very excited to enter this new year with the BMW Z4 GTE. There is a lot of enthusiasm in the team for the new car. Certainly there will be a development period involved but ultimately I see no reason why we can’t be competitive with the great competition that exists in the GT category in the ALMS. Although this might be a development year in many respects, the level of driver talent we have on the team – including the two new exciting additions with Maxime Martin and John Edwards – I think that ultimately we can have success and do much as we did in 2009, the first year of the BMW M3 GT, and work hard toward achieving maximum results in its first year. One aspect of the launch that is very exciting is not just the introduction of the BMW Z4 GTE and our drivers, but also the collection of historic cars that were the cars that began the success story of BMW in North American racing.”

The guests had travelled to Orlando (US) on Monday, and were welcomed that evening at a dinner in the Crowne Plaza Universal Orlando by Jens Marquardt, Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW of North America, BMW Team RLL Team Principal Bobby Rahal and BMW NA Motorsport Manager Gordon McDonnell. On Tuesday, the ALMS drivers took them on a series of taxi rides in historic BMW racing cars. This was followed by the unveiling of the BMW Z4 GTE.

The car is not the only important new thing BMW Team RLL can look forward to in the coming season: Michelin is the new Tire Partner of BMW Motorsport in the ALMS.

The car is not the only important new thing BMW Team RLL can look forward to in the coming season: Michelin is the new Tire Partner of BMW Motorsport in the ALMS. In contrast, Premium Partner Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts is something of a constant. The successful cooperation will continue in 2013. Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts belongs to the InterContinental Hotels Group. IHG maintains, runs and owns over 4,400 hotels and more than 658,000 rooms in approaching 100 countries.

The Mercedes Benz E63 AMG – with 4MATIC and as S-Model

Mercedes-AMG continues to champion performance, dynamism and efficiency: the new E63 AMG is now available as a particularly powerful S-Model with an output of 430 kW (585 hp), 800 Newton meters of torque and featuring a newly developed performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. The AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine continues to be the absolute pinnacle of efficiency: the combination of high performance and low fuel consumption remains unrivalled by any other competitor in the segment worldwide. The permanent all-wheel drive is also optionally available for the other E 63 AMG models – on which the V8 engine has been uprated from 386 kW (525 hp) to 410 kW (557 hp), with 720 Nm of torque. With this range, Mercedes-AMG is premiering high-performance passenger car models with an all-wheel-drive system geared to driving dynamics.

The launch of the new, customized model variants will offer Mercedes-AMG customers greater scope for individuality than ever before. The new E 63 AMG presents a more powerful character and a more dynamic appearance than all its predecessors: the new AMG design philosophy is immediately apparent at first glance, with the new "twin blade" radiator grille and the new "A-wing" in the AMG front apron defining the exclusive look. As previously, the top AMG model is available as a Saloon and Estate. The E 63 AMG's appeal is also boosted by substantially enhanced value for money: customers now receive more performance and driving dynamics and a broader scope of standard equipment and appointments.

The CLS 63 AMG also benefits from the new model range constellation: similarly to the E63 AMG, the Coupé and Shooting Brake will also be available with performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Alongside the successful SUVs – ML 63 AMG, GL 63 AMG, G 63 AMG and G 65 AMG - two passenger car model ranges comprising up to eight unique models with all-wheel drive are now available from Mercedes-AMG in the guise of the E 63 AMG and the CLS 63 AMG. Additional models featuring performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive, such as the A 45 AMG and the CLA 45 AMG, will follow this year.

"'Driving Performance' encapsulates the philosophy pursued at Mercedes-AMG,"explains Ola Källenius, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. The new model variants of the E 63 AMG and CLS 63 AMG clearly demonstrate how we are now offering our customers even more individuality. The S-Models in particular represent the most attractive proposition in the segment, boasting substantially enhanced value for money: the highest power and torque ratings in the segment, the new performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the new design and substantially more standard equipment and appointments are the outstanding strengths of the new high-performance automobiles from Affalterbach. With the new all-wheel-drive S-Models we will reach new customers and markets."

With the exclusive S-Models, we have sharpened the dynamic profile of the

E 63 AMG and the CLS 63 AMG substantially," adds Tobias Moers, head of overall vehicle development and member of the management board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. "These high power and torque ratings are exclusive to AMG. Our AMG 5.5-litre V8 engine remains the most efficient series production V8 engine in the world. The newly developed, performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive attains the best acceleration values in the segment, as well as offering our customers markedly higher driving dynamics than ever before."

AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission for personal set-up

Maximum individuality and customized dynamics – these are the special strengths of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. The four modes – "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual) – offer the driver a personal set-up. In "C" mode, the ECO start/stop function is active and switches off the eight-cylinder engine when the vehicle is at a standstill. In addition, the transmission characteristics are tangibly soft, with smooth and early gear changes. Second gear is generally used as the starting gear in this mode.

The engine and transmission are far more agile in "S", "S+" and "M" mode; in addition, the ECO start/stop function is deactivated. Partial suppression of the cylinders proves perfect for an emphatic driving style: briefly and precisely interrupting ignition and injection under full load leads to even faster gearshifts with a more emotional sound than before. An automatic double-declutching function for downshifting and the RACE START function are also included as standard with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission.

Performance-oriented 4MATIC all-wheel drive for the ultimate in dynamism

The performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive distributes the engine torque at a ratio of 33 to 67 percent (front/rear axle). The rear-biased power distribution provides for signature AMG high driving dynamics and superlative driving enjoyment. The 3-stage ESP® has been tailored specifically to the permanent all-wheel drive system. In "SPORT Handling" mode, the Torque Vectoring Brake performs selective braking intervention on individual wheels in the interests of high agility, thereby avoiding understeering when turning and cornering. In bends, specific brief braking of the inner rear wheel results in defined cornering of the vehicle.

The AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive enhances driving safety and grip on wet or wintry road surfaces. Optimum traction is guaranteed by a multi-disk clutch with a locking effect of 50 Newton metres which exploits the frictional connection potential of all four wheels to the full on snow and ice in particular.

The technical basis is provided by a transfer case for the additional power take-off to the driven rear axle. This transfer case is integrated compactly into the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission and requires virtually no additional installation space. The torque is transmitted from the power take-off via a propeller shaft to the front axle. Power transmission from the front-axle differential to the front-left drive shaft is effected via an intermediate shaft which passes through an encapsulated shaft duct in the engine oil pan. The compact and weight-optimized design results in a comparatively low level of additional weight for the all-wheel-drive system of only 70 kilograms.

E 63 AMG S-Model with differential lock on the rear axle

The E 63 AMG S-Model sees Mercedes-AMG going one step further. True to the "Driving Performance" philosophy, the most powerful E-Class is additionally fitted with a differential lock on the rear axle. This high-tech package results in a further increase in traction, ultimately leading to even greater driving dynamics and enhanced driving enjoyment, especially on the race track.

All E 63 AMG models feature the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with electronically controlled damping system. The front axle employs a steel-spring suspension system, while the rear axle is fitted with a fully load-bearing air suspension system. Pressing the button marked with a shock absorber in the AMG DRIVE UNIT is sufficient to switch the electronics from "Comfort" to "Sport" or "Sport plus". The three-link front suspension has undergone further optimization for the S-Model and the E 63 AMG with all-wheel drive. In conjunction with the newly developed axle components produced in aluminum, these optimization measures result in markedly enhanced grip and agility combined with a high level of neutrality during fast cornering. The markedly more performance-oriented elastokinematics are exclusive to the
S-Model, and offer the driver maximum neutrality and even better feedback and grip at the critical limits. With rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, the E 63 AMG's 48 millimeter wider track at the front offers substantially greater stability at high cornering speeds and improved road feel. Increased negative camber on both axles additionally boosts lateral dynamics.

Electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive steering complements the vehicle's set-up to perfection, the direct steering ratio of 14 : 1 providing for extremely agile handling in bends in conjunction with the variable servo assistance geared to the given suspension mode. The E 63 AMG is fitted as standard with 10-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels painted in titanium grey and featuring a high-sheen finish. Tires in size 255/40 R 18 are fitted to 9.0 x 18 wheels at the front, while the 9.5 x 18 rear wheels have 285/35 R 18 tires. The all-wheel-drive and S-Model come with tires in size 255/35 R 19 (front) and 285/30 R 19 (rear) on AMG light-alloy wheels in size 9.0 x 19 and 9.5 x 19. Only the high-performance S-Model features 10-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in matt titanium grey with a high-sheen rim flange.

Optional AMG ceramic high-performance compound brake system
The E 63 AMG is equipped with an extremely effective AMG high-performance braking system befitting its status as an AMG automobile. The front and rear axles sport ventilated and perforated brake disks in ample 360 millimeter format. The disks which are subject to particularly high levels of stress and strain on the front axle feature the composite braking technology which has been tried and tested in the field of motor sport. Calipers in a silver painted finish with white AMG lettering and incorporating six pistons (front) and four pistons (rear) provide for spontaneous, fading-resistant deceleration and the shortest stopping distances. Calipers' in a red painted finish distinguish the S-Model.

An AMG ceramic high-performance composite braking system is exclusively available for the S-Model as an optional feature – recognizable by the even larger 402 millimeter brake disks and the "AMG Carbon Ceramic" logo on calipers sporting a special paint finish. This ceramic system is around 40 percent lighter, providing for reduced unsprung masses and enhanced driving dynamics, agility and ride comfort. The superior hardness of the ceramic brake disks leads to a longer service life and greater resistance to extreme stress and heat.
